The Pencil Burnisher has the finest tip of all the types on sale here. Made from the semi-precious stone - Agate, this is a traditional stone used for centuries for gilders burnishers. Very hard, highly polished, and shaped to a thin sharp tip, this model is an accessory to the more popular "Dogtooth" tipped version (next). This one has its uses to finish the fine edges & corners of laid raised gold, where the dogtooth cannot reach. Or it can used for accurate burnishing, because of its extra fine tip. A Dogtooth Burnisher, named after the tips resemblance to a dogs fang, has a tip that can work most surfaces of laid raised gold, and of course, flat laid gold. Also made from the semi-precious stone - Agate, very hard, highly polished, and shaped with a weird curve in its centre. The Dogtooth tip Agate Burnisher is $46.00. This model being small to medium in size, is ideal for almost any burnishing work.

The Silicium Burnisher, is our "top of the line" model. It sports the ladies lipstick style of tip, that can work flat areas, and most other surfaces of laid raised gold, and of course, flat laid gold. An equivalent to Hematite stone, hard and highly polished, this type of stone (black with a mirror finish), yields the best result when polishing gold. The Silicium Burnisher is $100.00.

Jewellers Rouge, comes in a hard dry stick form. A super-fine polishing compound for metal or stone. Use it to re-polish your stone burnisher before use, excellent to remove any tarnishing that may occur from having handled the stone end of your burnisher. Simply rub the end of the stick into the coarse side of a strip of leather, then use the burnishing stone on that area of the leather. Rubbing until the stones surface is restored. This rouge method will work on metals as well as glass. Or any superhard item. A rouge stick is a useful item to have handy. The Jewellers Rouge stick is $4.00 each.
