# This fountain pen 'Clone' allows Standard European Ink converters & coloured Ink refills as plug-in accessories, like those which fit: Osmiroid-Easy-Change, Manuscript, Rotring, Platignum, etc.

FOR THIS OSMIROID 65-75 CLONE: How to load Ink into the Pen & start Writing, also how to Clean the pen after use. Having any of the VINTAGE OSMIROID 65 or 75 NIB-UNITs, this will simply screw (FIRMLY, not to tight) into the pen.

Unscrew & fully open the ink converters plunger,

then fill it with 0.75ml of the bottled Fountain-Pen Ink of your choice (load coloured-inks-only), using the 1ml pipette included-FREE),

& then plug the converter securely into the back-end of the pen,

make the ink-flow by screwing the converter plunger down a little, until ink starts bubbling out from the nibs slot-hole,

rub the ink bubble into some scrap paper & then write with the pen tip on the same scrap, to get the pen going.

Then screw on the barrel & you can write away in your normal lettering hand - to your hearts content...

TO CLEAN THE PEN AFTER USE: Holding the pen upright - unscrew the Ink-Converter (clockwise), sucking excess ink from the pens internal canal. Then stand the pen upright for a few minutes to allow any left-over ink to run back into the reservoir. Unplug the ink converter, EMPTY any ink in it back into your ink-bottle, saving as much good ink as possible. Re-plug the converter into the pen, & with a glass of water, submerge the nib end & turning the converter screw, suck water into the pen, filling the pen & converter. Empty it again into the water. This flushes the pen & converters used ink into the water, RE-DO this a number of times until the flushed water becomes clear. Unscrew & shake the Nib-Unit, drying it off with a paper-tissue, also shake out the ink converter & pen body, free of water. Until the next time you wish to write with the pen.
# Using Metallic or Sparkle inks may clog up the nibs interior, best to stick with plain Coloured inks!
# Always stand the pen UPRIGHT if it has INK in it, OTHERWISE IT MAY LEAK.

The unique RESERVOIR for Osmiroids DIP handle/holder may be lost or damaged over time, normally you would have to buy another handle, which includes 1x Osmiroid reservoir. # Now however, Ornasonova has developed an improved dip holder reservoir, which can be bought separately.
This UPDATE to the old original reservoir is made from enduring plastic, with a similar stainless steel – springy reservoir tongue. Anyone who has used the original model reservoir may have found the metal tongue tends to slip out of its slot, when extracting it from the handle? This doesn't happen with the new model, which is locked in position in its plastic sheath. And of course it accepts any of the Osmiroid Gold or Stainless-steel range of nibs, & the Left Hander Manuscript brand nibs.

The Osmiroid DIP Nibs.

These are Spring Steel nibs - 22 carat Gold Plated. The DIP nibs are used one at a time and fit into the Osmiroid DIP nib Holder. This Osmiroid holder will only allow Osmiroid DIP nibs to fit, not most other dip nib brands. These are nibs for right handers. Scroll tipped nibs, Rola handwriting nibs also among this selection.

REPLACEMENT NIBS FOR YOUR OSMIROID FOUNTAIN PEN UNITS?

"Do It Yourself (DIY)", ANY OF THE FOLLOWING "Osmiroid" Right or Left hand DIP NIBS WILL FIT. HERE ARE BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO DO THIS: Firstly, take special note of your old nibs positioning before removal, as the new one has to fit in exactly the same position. It just needs you to remove the old nib. (the nib & its inner plastic insert simply pulls out, using 2x of those money counting finger rubbers for a good grip, one on your finger the other on your thumb. It may need warm water soaking overnight to help soften any hard ink inside). Then carefully cleanup the filigree plastic insert that comes out with the old nib. Using an old toothbrush under a running tap, works well for this job. Align the new nib in the same position on the filigree plastic insert, then push firmly into the fountain unit tube. This European size ink cartridge fits in: Osmiroid, Rotring, Platignum, Manuscript, etc, fountain pens.
All you will need is a bottle of FOUNTAIN INK. Like our MANUSCRIPT, or PELIKAN 4001 brands or QUINK. Then you can refill the pen from the bottle. This converter works using a plunger in a tube that you pull outward to refill ink into its tube container. Simple to operate, after fitting this converter into the back of a nib unit, (just like an ink cartridge), then dip the nib end of the pen into the bottle and pull the plunger upward. Once the plunger is fully extended the tube should be full of ink, otherwise re-do the plunger thing again, (pushing it fully down then up again, while the pens tip is in the bottles ink.
