Speedball series "C" nibs come fitted with a dual fixed reservoir of brass, to hold extra ink per dip. Being for right handed calligraphers, they have a right oblique cut on the tip, this makes them suitable for any upright style of calligraphy lettering, like Gothic/Old English, Celtic, Foundations Hand, etc. Mainly because the wrist can stay straight when making horizontal strokes for letters, without turning the wrist to compensate. There are 6x nibs available from us in this series, sizes from 0 (the largest) to 5 (the smallest). The B nib series works OK for RIGHT or LEFT HAND users.

Speedball "FLICKER" B series.

The Speedball Flicker B nibs come fitted with a dual openable reservoir of brass, to hold extra ink per dip. The name 'Flicker' is quite obviously applied to the open/close ink reservoir. With this flicker device - cleaning a nib is made easy. Speedball style B nibs are Round tipped; for Gothic or Outline Letters, Cartoons, Uniform Line Drawings, Borders and Display Posters.
We have 5x nib sizes available in this series, size 0 (5.5mm largest), size 1/2 is 4.5mm, size 2 is 2.5mm, size 5 is 1.5mm and size 6 (1/2mm smallest). The B nib series works OK for right hand or left users.
The steel nibs sell for $12.00 each.

The HUNT brand of nibs are part of the Speedball range.

These nibs differ from Speedball's because of being sharp pointed and springy. The general uses for this kind of nib being Copperplate/Spencerian lettering, Drawing & Mapping, or line work. Some years ago a man known as Larry Menser helped Speedball with their sale & distribution of Copperplate/Spencerian nibs. He wrote a book on these calligraphic styles, (no longer in print), and generally promoted the Hunt 101 & 103 nibs for serious copperplate students. So, we start the Hunt section, with these 2x specialist nibs.
